![]() Rpg/Fps/Survival Horror/Sci game (a true classic) You´re a trained military that wakes up from the cryo tube sleep. In this respect the game is somewhat similar to that other excellent FPS/RPG/adventure hybrid, Deus Ex. This game is absolutely brilliant it just oozes atmosphere - in fact this has to be one of the scariest games I've ever played, and the high level of interaction with the environment makes for a very satisfying gaming experience. There is a complex storyline (with quite a few twists & surprises along the way) which unfolds itself by reading e-mail messages and logs you come across. There is a lot of interaction with the environment involved, like terminals & locks you can hack into, cyber-implants that enhance your skills, computer systems that have to be activated (or shut down), weapons that can be repaired and upgraded, etc. It has elements of adventure games and computer role playing games. Like the original "System Shock" game, this game has elements of first person shooter games, but it is much mure than that. You have to work your way around the ship, trying to stay alive and find out what the hell is going on. You get to play a lone(?) survivor of some mysterious disaster, inside a big spaceship, somewhere in deep space. If nothing else, Exercise Green Dagger suggests Britain’s marines are still a force not to be trifled with. Faced with global commitments and diminishing resources, Britain is creating two Littoral Response Groups (LRG), which are amphibious task forces centered that include Royal Marines. For Britain, whose military has been shrinking for years under merciless budget cuts, it’s a bit of rare good news. Regardless of whether the comparison is fair, the U.S. Marine Force Recon units – fought a regular British infantry battalion, the same result might occur. If British marines embarrassed American marines, that would not be an unexpected outcome for when elite units fight regular forces. For Britain, the Royal Marines are actually commandos, which makes them special operations forces. But in many nations around the world, marines are small forces used for amphibious operations or securing naval bases (such as Russia’s Naval Infantry). ![]()
